Recognising the alignment of their values and goals, Rellik's founder, Marcus Galbraith, embarked on a journey to France to witness the Flexidry machine in action. This experience further solidified their decision to join forces in pursuit of sustainable waste management solutions.
Flexidry: Setting a New Standard
Flexidry boasts an unmatched purity rate, with a staggering 99.8% purity in its pulp quality, containing only 0.3% impurities in the dry matter. This exceptional purity rate ensures high-quality organic recovery and recycling, positioning Flexidry as a leader in packing separation and depackaging technology. Compared to traditional high-speed separators, Rellik was drawn to Flexidry's high purity rate which would open new doors and opportunities for the pulp.
A Smooth Transition
With Telford Smith's expertise and partnership, the delivery of Green Creative’s Flexidry in January 2024 – the very first in Australia - marked a significant milestone. The subsequent commissioning and testing phases in February 2024 unfolded seamlessly, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Telford Smith’s engineer and Green Creative's technical experts. By the end of the first day, the Flexidry machine was already in operation, demonstrating its potential to revolutionise waste management practices.
Exploring Possibilities
During the testing phase, Rellik pushed the boundaries of Flexidry's capabilities, experimenting with a diverse range of materials, from food items like yogurt and ice cream to packaged goods like pizza and microwavable meals. This exploration not only highlighted the machine's versatility but also hinted at its potential applications beyond conventional waste streams.
“Remarkably, the output from the ice cream product was so contamination-free that it looked appetising, which isn't something you would normally associate with a depackager,” remarked Telford Smith's Director, David Picone.
